Frequently Asked Questions | R.U.M. Chair by Wehlers
Everything you need to know about the R.U.M. Chair — design, sustainability data, B2B pricing, and circular economy guarantees.
Is the R.U.M. Chair comfortable?
Yes. The R.U.M. Chair is designed by C.F. Møller Design — one of Scandinavia's most respected architecture and design studios. The chair is engineered for extended use in offices, universities, and hospitality settings, where comfort over long periods is essential. Its ergonomic shell shape distributes weight evenly and the seat depth suits a wide range of users. Many customers report that it is one of the most comfortable stacking chairs they have used.
What is the carbon footprint of the R.U.M. Chair?
The R.U.M. Chair has a verified carbon footprint of maximum 15.2 kg CO2e per chair (no upholstery, four-leg base). This is up to 85% lower than comparable chairs made from virgin materials. All footprint data is third-party verified by Quantified Impacts under the EU Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology. Full LCA data is available on our Technical Specifications page.
What materials is the R.U.M. Chair made from?
The R.U.M. Chair is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PP). Depending on the colour, the source material is discarded fishing nets (Fisherman's Green), corporate e-waste (Keyboard Black), or pharmaceutical and medical industrial waste (Pharma Blue). The metal frame is made from 100% recycled steel.
What certifications does the R.U.M. Chair have?
Wehlers is a certified B Corp. The R.U.M. Chair carries a third-party verified Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) study. The sustainability data supports DGNB, LEED, and BREEAM certification processes. Verified documentation is available on our technical resources page.
How does the take-back program work?
Every R.U.M. Chair comes with a full take-back guarantee. When the chairs reach end of use, Wehlers collects them and ensures they are fully recycled — zero landfill. This closes the material loop and means the chairs never become a waste liability for your organisation. The take-back is included in the purchase price and is documented for your ESG reporting. Read more about the take-back guarantee.
Can I use the R.U.M. Chair for Scope 3 ESG reporting?
Yes. Wehlers provides verified Scope 3 emissions data for every order. The PEF-verified carbon footprint per chair can be used directly in your ESG reporting, supplier sustainability assessments, and CSRD documentation. We also provide DGNB-compatible fact sheets and full LCA data on request.
What variants of the R.U.M. Chair are available?
The R.U.M. Chair is available in six variants: Original (four-leg), Armrest, Sledge (sled base), Barstool, Wheels (castors), and Stool. All variants are available in Fisherman's Green, Keyboard Black, and Pharma Blue, with optional upholstery in Re-Wool or Sport fabric.
What are the B2B pricing options?
Wehlers offers project pricing for orders of 10 or more chairs. Lease and rental options are available for organisations that prefer an operational expenditure model. Use the online price configurator for instant pricing, or contact the B2B team directly for project quotes and volume discounts.
Are BIM and CAD files available for architects?

Wehlers also provides DGNB and LEED fact sheets, EPD data, and tender specification texts in multiple languages (English, Danish, German, Dutch, Spanish). All resources are on the Technical Downloads page.
